She is the Founder and Head Creative Director of TPD Group, a fashion enterprise comprising distinct brands that celebrate African heritage and champion elegance.

Sylvia's journey began with a love for Africa's indigenous Ankara fabric and a desire to transform it into elegant, contemporary womenswear. What started as a creative passion evolved into Thatpurpledot Couture, initially established as a bespoke tailoring business specialising in women's clothing made with African fabrics.

As demand grew and the business evolved, Sylvia expanded Thatpurpledot Couture beyond bespoke tailoring to introduce a made-to-order model, allowing more women to access thoughtfully designed pieces that celebrate their individuality and heritage.

Over the years, her vision grew beyond a single fashion label into a group of complementary brands, each serving different needs within the fashion industry. Today, that vision lives on through TPD Group, an evolving fashion enterprise built on creativity, quality, versatility, and a commitment to the growth of the African fashion industry.

Recognising the need for reliable garment production within Nigeria's fashion industry, Sylvia established Tailored by TPD, a garment factory providing bulk tailoring and production services to fashion entrepreneurs and businesses.

Through this initiative, she champions the Buy Made in Nigeria movement while helping other fashion businesses access production support as they grow. Tailored by TPD reflects her commitment to strengthening the local fashion ecosystem and creating opportunities beyond her own brands.

Driven by this conviction, she founded Strategy. Business. Clarity With Sylvia (@sbc_withsylvia), a fashion-business academy through which she has mentored over 170 founders across the fashion and beauty industries.
